1/ I made these scones for my sister who is coming home four days, I thought seeing as she hasn't been in Devon for a while I thought I would make something with a nostalgic feel to welcome her home. I love making them, especially as if there is any leftover dough it tastes so good and reminds me of when I used to make them with my mum.
2/ The recipe if from the Cranks Cookbook, It's a very old book, as you can see! It has been a huge part of my childhood baking all the yummy recipes from it. I love the feel of used recipe books, this one is covered in flour but I think adds to the character!
There are lots of arguments about which way the jam and cream goes on a scone! Which way do you do it?
